Welcome to Amberjack's intro tour
Amberjack is an Open Source library you can use to create tours that guide your site's visitors.
The basic idea is to explain existing pages of your site through a text (like this). The explaining text is displayed in a dialog-layer on top of your web page.
Amberjack is skinnable
Amberjack was created with emphasis on flexibility and skinnability. Specify your favorite skin simply by adding another parameter to your tour's entry url:
http://my.com/?tourId=MyTour&skinId=Safari
Create your own skin
Modify existing skins to suit your needs. If you like, you can create a new skin from scratch and share your results with the community.
BTW: you can not only skin your tour but also use everything HTML & CSS offer for the explaining text of a tour page.
The Tour Wizard makes tour creation easy
Best thing about Amberjack is that you don't have to learn anything to create tours. Access to your site's HTML template files is sufficient.
Use the Wizard to define what pages of your site should be toured and to set options like
- text used for the previous/next/close buttons
- the URL that should be opened when someone clicks the close button
- the exit page's URL
- ...and some more
The Wizard throws out HTML code you must then copy & paste into your site's global template file.
Visit the forum to get supported
Give feedback so Amberjack can be improved. Report software bugs so Amberjack can be fixed. Leave wishes for Amberjack and I'll try to extend it.
